The Producer Lead’s main focus is leading efforts to conceive and produce best of breed content creative and innovative delivery and presentation across all digital platforms for Comedy Central series. This position is the digital strategic and creative lead for their assigned series. Producers must be comfortable working collaboratively within a matrixed organization.

Candidates should have experience developing content across desktop, tablet, social, and mobile media, with an eye towards the convergence of these platforms along with a background in community management, engagement and growth. The ideal candidate can conceive innovative content that lives synergistically across video, social and interactive mediums and articulate their vision and strategy to senior executives.

He or she will work closely with many groups in the department, elsewhere in the Comedy Central Multiplatform sphere, and outside of Comedy Central. Developing and managing relationships with Comedy Central’s On-Air Producers, Development Team, Product Development, Editorial, Design, Technology, Marketing, and Ad Sales is a primary responsibility.


• Leading the creative expression of shows on desktop, mobile, social and connected devices
• Supporting the brand and marketing goals for series as determined by Marketing
• Driving audience engagement and growth year-round
• Working with Ad Sales Production to develop integrated sponsorship opportunities within content pieces
• Advocating digital needs of individual TV series by educating and guiding TV production on effective digital content experiences
• Working with Project Managers to ensure that process, workflow, documentation, and tools are upheld and/or improved to department standards
• Ensuring that all rights and clearances are properly pursued and secured
• Leading content production teams in working with Channel Production, Editorial/Programming, Marketing in developing, coordinating and implementing on-air throws, in-site promotion, navigation and cross-linking standards and processes
• Working with Research to identify and track relevant analytics
• Collaborate with outside stakeholders (Music Programming, on-air producers, Integrated Marketing, other business units, etc…) to ensure that strategic objectives are understood in concept development, and met
• Working with Ad Sales and Integrated Marketing to drive revenue through content creation and promotion.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of digital producing experience at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency, particularly in the pop culture space
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Experience in multiplatform content extensions and original content production
• Experience developing experiences that drive engagement in social media
• Intimate familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Foursquare, GetGlue and Pinterest

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong familiarity with content aggregators such as Reddit, Fark, StumbleUpon, and Buzzfeed
• Some experience producing Flash, iOS, Android, HTML5, or Unity games and applications
• Familiarity with digital analytics and tools such as Omniture, Comscore, Google Analytics, and Facebook Insights
• Strong knowledge of and personal connection to Comedy Central brand and franchises
• Experience managing teams, mentoring and providing creative guidance
• Thorough understanding of the relationships of social media and SEO to site traffic
• Proven track record of overseeing creative development and implementation of web sites of high profile brands or franchises
• Familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator
• Working knowledge and understanding of digital technologies, including HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, etc
