Would you be interested in playing a major role in the transition of a well-established company in to the digital world? This is no small feat. It involves identifying every single element that have made the print products successful over decades and turning them on their head. Is this really needed? Does the spirit of the product carry over well to the web? Does anyone even use it? How do we bring these new products to market without alienating our current customers? If this type of challenge gets your blood flowing, keep reading.

The role of Project Manager is challenging and you won't be able to excel at it by strictly studying PMI concepts. Will those help? Of course they will, but there are three things which you absolutely must have to be considered. First, real-world experience managing a number of small and mid-sized projects. Second, the motivation and raw drive to never stop learning. Reading, online workshops, MeetUps. You should always be inquisitive. Third, resourcefulness. When faced with a unique problem, what do you do? Do you wait for your manager to notice you are struggling and come to you asking if you need help, or do you break the problem down in to manageable chunks and proactively start attacking each piece? One of those traits we are looking for.

The Project Manager is responsible for keeping the project moving forward at all times. This includes scope identification and management, WBS creation, risk identification and management, creating and maintaining a project schedule and the overall responsibility of owning the project plan. You will be relied on to wear many hats and think creatively to solve unique problems that come up every day.

Other responsibilities include:

-Communication - The most critical skill of all to succeeding as our Project Manager. You must be able to communicate to absolutely everyone; CEO, VP, department directors, vendors near and far, all the way to in-house and off-shore engineers. They all understand things at different levels and it is your jobs to get your points across clearly and concisely, both verbally and written. You also must inherently know when it is time to listen.


- We have pre-established processes that have been put in to place for good reasons, but they are never set in stone. We expect these to be followed, but they will be changed and adapted as time goes on.

Required Qualifications are:

-Action-oriented and able to work autonomously. Better said, you don’t need to be told daily what you should be doing. You just know.
-Super-human communication skills.
-Direct exposure to managing software projects utilizing an SDLC.
-7+ years' experience as project manager. Knowledge comes with experience.
-High Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel. Generally, you will be expected to pick up new software very quickly.
-Excellent personal organizational skills required. You will be asked to prove this.
-Experience managing project budgets.
-Observational and able to assess situations on-the-fly. Things move fast around here.

Additional Desired Qualifications are:

-PMP, PgMP Designation, but keenly aware of their limitations.
-Experience working with quality assurance and unit testing.
-Experience writing technical specifications and system design documents.
- Experience in financial services, degree in Finance or relevant knowledge.
