Thought Gallery is seeking an Editor/Product Manager to oversee all aspects of site content and business operations. This entrepreneurial opportunity affords the right individual a unique situation to develop a digital media property within the structure of an established publishing operation. You will be responsible to further develop the site's editorial content, maintaining its robust calendar of events and partnering with New York City's top museums and cultural institutions.

Responsibilities:
• Lead development of all ThoughtGallery.org’s web content, which includes maintaining a robust calendar of events
• Plan editorial schedule centered around upcoming events and NYC culture happenings
• Initiate and manage relationships with marketing and communications departments of NYC cultural institutions and museums
• Manage freelance writing staff; assign, edit and post articles
• Create and deploy email newsletters, tracking user behavior and open rates
• Manage marketing campaigns, such as giveaways, and monitor email sign-ups to assess success of campaigns
• Manage social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter

Required skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good familiarity with NYC cultural scene
• Knowledge of email marketing best practices including strategy, testing, analytics and reporting
• Ability to negotiate alliances and partnerships
• Basic HTML/CSS ; familiarity with SailThru a plus, though not required
• Knowledge of Wordpress platform
• Understanding of SEO
• Background in communications, journalism, or marketing preferred
• Work independently while also supporting a larger team
