Job Description

As a Project Manager, you’ll join a small but fast-paced marketing team with a scrappy attitude and a love for the creative process. You will play an integral role in executing large-scale marketing programs The Atlantic magazine and TheAtlantic.com. The position combines program execution, analytics, sales support and creative thinking. The position will report to the Executive Director of Marketing.


Responsibilities Include:

•Manage integrated program execution for The Atlantic's top advertisers, including content creation, timelines and budgets, from activation to recap
•Manage all social media for marketing programs, including scheduling, trafficking, client approvals, and copywriting
•Develop processes for measuring social media activity and analyzing program performance data
•Keep an up-to-date database of campaign analytics and other key metrics
•Provide quarterly performance updates and campaign benchmarks to internal sales and marketing teams
•Educate and train sales and marketing teams on internal execution processes
•Develop and manage relationships with external vendors and partners for marketing program extensions

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

•Exceptional writing skills coupled with a creative, unconventional mind
•Knowledge of and passion for digital media space, along with an understanding of key trends like native advertising, branded content, and content marketing
•2+ years of related experience (digital/social experience preferred)
•The ability to make decisions in real-time with maturity, poise, and “grace under pressure”
•Strong organizational skills
•Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS)
•Ability to work closely with a variety of internal constituencies, as well as interface with clients and other external colleagues (e.g., vendors, agency contacts, partners)
•Graphic design and web design (basic HTML) skills and some familiarity with relevant design software a plus (Photoshop, DreamWeaver or InDesign, etc)
•Familiarity with SimpleReach, comScore, @Plan, Omniture, and other digital audience measurement tools
•Outstanding record of academic and professional achievement
•Bachelor’s degree
