OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, is looking for a creative and resourceful Graphic Designer to join our team, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications.


Specific responsibilities include:
  1. Design and create communications and advertising for OPERA America's programmatic offerings, member services and the organization's National Opera Center in a manner that reinforces the OPERA America brand.

  2. Work with marketing and allied departments, as well as outside printers and vendors, to ensure that materials are of a high quality and delivered in a timely fashion.

Required Qualifications
  1. Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience in design for print and digital media.

  2. High standard of typography, design, branding and editorial work demonstrated by a quality portfolio.

  3. Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript a plus.

  4. Team player, great communicator, motivated to accomplish goals within tight deadlines.

  5. Capacity to manage multiple simultaneous projects in a range of sizes for different audiences.

  6. Ability to design within the organization's existing brand, while maintaining/creating product identity and freshness.

  7. Time management, exceptional attention to detail and visual problem-solving skills.

  8. Up-to-date with current design trends.

  9. Nonprofit and/or arts and entertainment background a plus.
