National Geographic Society is seeking an Assistant Editor who will conceptualize and manage the creation and presentation of editorial matter for Traveler in all its print and tablet forms, and for other projects managed by Traveler. Additional responsibilities include editing departments for print and tablet; assigning work to freelance writers and staff/freelance researchers, with regard to quality and accuracy, budgets and deadlines; coordinating assignments with photo editors and designers; taking part in story planning, staff consultation, and brainstorming; managing letters to the editor. No supervision exercised.Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of professional magazine experienced required. Must be familiar with magazine research, reporting, and editing procedures.
