Job Description

AtlanticLIVE, the live events arm of The Atlantic magazine, seeks a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and service-minded marketing professional to join our team and contribute to the conception, development, and marketing of a wide range of editorial events and programs. Our ideal candidate will have 4+ years of previous marketing experience in a media, agency, digital, or start-up environment.

Responsibilities Include:

•Write compelling proposals conveying complex ideas in smart, sophisticated ways
•Create innovative, multi-platform sponsorship ideas for both custom and multi-underwriter branding programs across live and digital opportunities
•Write and design beautiful, elegant presentations for client meetings and larger events
•Develop both mass and targeted campaigns to generate leads for events sales team
•Deliver consistently superior proposals that meet clients’ marketing objectives and are consistent with The Atlantic brand and editorial standards
•Develop clear metrics and platforms to demonstrate underwriter ROI
•Work closely with NYC-based and national advertising sales and marketing colleagues on creative, customized integrated proposals and opportunities; serve as events advocate in conversation
•Lead conversations around digital event extension opportunities
•Actively participate in the ideation of new event concepts and proposals as an enterprising, entrepreneurial, and productive team contributor, constantly and eagerly identifying new means of innovation to grow AtlanticLIVE’s impact across all constituent groups (e.g., in person attendees, online viewers/readers, speakers, underwriters)
•Stay up-to-speed and communicate the latest findings on event and media trends within The Atlantic family and beyond

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

•Ability to communicate goals and strategies internally and externally; strong presentation skills and exceptional persuasive copywriting/general writing skills
•Strong analytical and strategic thinking; ability to understand and use relevant research about publication, (digital, print, and events) audiences, and event data
•Interest in national affairs, politics, business, and the arts with knowledge of leading figures and issues in each category
•Creativity and a high degree of organization skills
•Ability to work closely and cooperatively (with grace under pressure) with a variety of internal constituencies, as well as interface with high-level clients and other external colleagues
•High-level of proficiency with relevant design software (InDesign, PhotoShop) and Microsoft Powerpoint, required
•Demonstrated, strong management skills
•Bachelor’s degree required
