As a member of the Quality Department, the Customer Quality Engineer is a key technical position responsible for monitoring external product quality levels, identifying and leading quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing manufacturing defect levels, improving outgoing quality levels and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate must be able to drive continuous improvement of product quality, helping to reduce and prevent non-conformances, while defining and implementing metrics to evaluate their impact in all areas of product quality. As a Customer Quality Engineer, you will:
Drive the design, collection analysis and reporting of customer quality experiences, defining effective metrics, including field failure data, call volume, and return rates across all product lines, to drive continuous improvement across the company.
Interface extensively with our Customer Support, Service and Repair, Manufacturing, Product Design, and Supply Chain teams.
Investigate and troubleshoot reported quality/performance problem or customer complaints and drive them to completion through Root Cause and Corrective Action activities.
Conduct / Manage daily and weekly cross-functional customer complaint reviews
Support process improvement plans using Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, DOE, and Gauge R&R.
Help develop and document effective process/product inspection and manufacturing techniques in support of existing and new product introductions, driving quality to world-class levels.

To be considered for the Customer Quality Engineer position, you need:
Engineering degree, MS or MBA a plus
2-10 years’ experience on a manufacturing team
Proficiency in the areas of statistical principles and applications, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, DOE, Acceptance and Sampling, process improvement/optimization, Gage R&R measuring systems, product reliability and safety, system and product audit, product quality tools such as; six sigma, Lean, and DFMA.
Ability to present technical information and effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
External Focus: Understanding customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape in the industry.
Change agent with energy, passion, and enthusiasm to move the ball forward.
Background working cooperatively with multi-functional groups, possessing excellent interaction skills, and an 'on-the-shop-floor’, ‘hands on’ attitude.
Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt a plus
Experience with appliance, automotive or electromechanical device manufacturing is a plus.
