Summary
CAPA International Education is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to produce designs that get CAPA's messaging to our various target audiences across multiple channels with high visual impact. The designer works on digital and traditional projects that maintain CAPA's corporate identity and visual brand.

Because the graphic designer works closely with other colleagues involved in projects (including the marketing team, academic team, and sales staff), this role demands a keen business sense. He/she is also expected to keep up to date with the latest trends in the industry.

The ideal candidate is Boston-based and has at least two (2) years of professional work experience as a graphic designer.

This position reports to the Marketing Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Designs and produces art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media, such as advertisings, website and micro-sites, brochures, flyers, books, magazines, zines, displays, and exhibitions.
•Designs media in a wide variety of styles that correspond to the organization’s needs
•Adheres to CAPA’s budget and time constraints –this includes estimating the time a project will require
•Presents new ideas to members of the team and options for design treatments
•Monitors projects through all phases of production
•Develops designs that are on strategy and reflect CAPA’s brand personality
•Proofreading and preparing designs to be sent to print and/or to publishing



Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required preferably with graphic design, illustration, fine art, or communications focus.

Experience:
At least two (2) years of work experience in the graphics design field, but less than five (5) years.

Skills:
•Thorough knowledge of design software and hardware including Apple computers and operating systems; font management tools; Adobe software including Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop (prefer Creative Suite and/or Creative Cloud); Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
•Thorough knowledge of the Internet as a tool for gathering and sending data or images relevant to the completion of a design project, especially the delivery of design files to print vendors.
•Experience with prepress imaging output and production —including traditional film and digital proofing— and file management technologies
•Experience exploring contemporary graphic design tools and industry initiatives outside the organization
•Web development skills —experience with Drupal and WordPress (preferred)
•Use of different media —including photography and illustration— to get the desired results
