Responsibilities include:

Territory Management/Maintenance
• Prospect the basic sciences within medical schools, osteopathic schools, physician assistant, physical therapy and graduate- level programs in the health sciences as well as undergraduate anatomy to develop sales leads
• Working with our library sales team, prospect academic specialty departments (such as neurosurgery, radiology, and otolaryngology) to create sales leads for our clinical information e-platforms
• Develop and implement strategies to meet sales goals
• Create, maintain and move opportunities through a sales pipeline
• Input and maintain customer data in Salesforce CRM
• Consistently meet call volume and sales goals

Field Based Responsibilities
• Establish and enhance relationships with key opinion leaders (faculty, department chairs, residency directors, deans, administrators, bookstore managers) to build awareness for our solutions in your own territory
• Give presentations during on-site sales visits with key customers
• Work with departments to properly evaluate Thieme electronic solutions (Dissector, eNeurosurgery, eOtolaryngology, eSpine, Medlantis)
• Close adoptions and licenses for Thieme solutions
• Work with bookstores to ensure optimal ordering and placement Thieme product
• Work with editorial colleagues to secure reviewers and product collaborators as we create or enhance our product offerings
• Represent Thieme at conventions and on-campus events

• Proven high-achiever with track record of success
• Proven record of working independently
• Outside higher education/STM publishing sales experience preferred
• Strong digital skills and ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic/complex environment
• Ability to travel 50%
• Bachelor’s degree

The ideal candidate will have
• a successful track record in higher education and/or STM publishing sales
• a focus on end end-user sell
• experience with presenting and selling electronic products

The position is to be based in a major metropolitan area with a significant clustering of medical schools – preferable in the western, northwest or southwest part of the US. Options include (but are not limited to) Washington State/Oregon/Nevada/Arizona.
