Ms. Human Resources
Digital Media
Full Time
TheAtlantic.com is looking for an experienced journalist to oversee our Education Channel.

Main responsibilities:

You’ll generate a lot of story ideas and execute them creatively. You’ll field inbound freelancer queries, recruit new contributors, and edit them.

The ideal candidate:

You have a demonstrated (though not exclusive) interest in education, broadly conceived, and significant experience covering it. You’re immersed in digital media, and you have a developed sense of how to attract and engage a digital audience. You’re good at managing people and heavy workflows. It’s the web, so you’ll have to be able to move fast, as circumstances demand, but you have high editorial standards and pay attention to the details. You have a journalistic sensibility that fits Atlantic values: intelligent, fair, accurate, curious, imaginative, and engaging.

This job provides good flexibility to pursue your own interests, and we’re willing to consider people from a variety of work backgrounds.

The job is full-time and is based in Washington, D.C.

Atlantic Media is an EOE of Minorities/Females/Vets/Disability.
