What will I be doing?

The Senior Director of Executive Communications will be a gifted writer for multiple platforms such as print, digital and broadcast as well as a strategic thinker who is able to manage executive priorities in a highly matrixed, global business environment. The Team Member must have outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, strong experience in speechwriting, preferably with a background in political campaigns, public policy or corporate communications. The Senior Director will demonstrate business acumen and will have deep experience in developing and executing CEO and executive positioning programs to support an organization's business objectives. The Team Member will work in close collaboration with the CEO's executive office, the Global Corporate Communications team and subject matter experts, this role will help ensure the effective and appropriate management of the CEO's speaking engagements and communications vehicles reaching internal and external stakeholders to maximize the CEO’s effectiveness and contributes to the success of Hilton Worldwide.
Other key priorities are listed below:
* Under the direction of the Vice President and in collaboration with other key business functions, develop and maintain the CEO Communications and Engagement Plan

* Research, identify and secure appropriate speaking opportunities both internally and externally in which to place the CEO and other senior executives that align with the company’s business and communications strategic priorities

* Conduct historical, current, and future trends and social research to provide facts, insights and context for speech and CEO written communications

* With support from Corporate Communications team, research audience expectations, event agenda, topics and remarks, and need for audio and/or visual support to assist executives to tailor messages for audience appeal and impact. Provide on-site event support as needed Guide and/or oversee appropriate messaging, style and context for communications deliverables that support the overall communications strategy, and reflect the needs of audience groups

* Research and draft appropriate editorial pieces for senior executives that align with the company’s business and policy agendas for internal and external audiences

* Oversee the planning, research and writing of high quality communications deliverables for the CEO, including select written communications to Team Members, internal/external audiences

*  Oversee the planning, research and writing of high quality communications deliverables for the CEO, including select written communications to Team Members, internal/external speeches and talking points, meeting presentations, panel remarks, articles and executive perspectives, blog posts, and scripts

* Work closely with Corporate Media Relations team on CEO media relations efforts including interview preparation and, guidance on relevant messages, style and tone

* Collaborate with the Corporate Responsibility, Industry Relations, Human Resources and Government Relations teams, among other internal teams, to inform and/or provide perspective to CEO communications efforts to ensure alignment of messages and appropriate management and use of CEO time

* Proactively seek recognition for the CEO and other EC members

* As required, provide speaker coaching to executives

* Develop and implement evaluation process and pipeline for managing CEO communication requests from internal and external stakeholders

*  In partnership with the Office of the CEO, manage overall CEO communications and/or events calendar

* Provide summary reports of executive speaking opportunities for CEO and EC review

* Ensure consistency, timeliness and professionalism of all CEO briefing materials to support CEO Communications and Engagement plan

* BS/BA Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Advertising or a related field

* Excellent writing and editing skills

* Ability to work closely and effectively with both senior executives as well as a larger team

* Ability to research and synthesize information

* Strong business acumen with a fluency in topical news

* Willingness to listen to feedback from others and find the best ways to incorporate that feedback

* Flexibility to deal with unanticipated projects by managing priorities

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline and results driven environment

* Demonstrated success and track-record in working with senior executives

* Minimum of seven (7) years of experience writing for senior leaders in governments or public sector organizations

* Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience

* Ability to travel as required

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
* MS/MA Master’s Degree
