This position will help lead Open Road Integrated Media’s marketing and promotion efforts. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing online and offline marketing campaigns, creating marketing content for distribution, coordinating promotions with the retail management team, and working directly with authors.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following categories:

Marketing Plans and Campaigns

* Develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and current authors
* Pitch titles, authors, and editorial and video content for placement
* Monitor, review and adjust marketing activity and results
* Provide feature enhancement priorities for the ORIM marketing platform
* Generate reports on effectiveness of ongoing campaigns on a seasonal basis

Social Media Marketing

* Participate on ORIM social networking, create social media sites for participating authors, train authors in their use, and optimize other channels for additional impact.
* Keep abreast of emerging technologies and communities in social media and report back to marketing team on findings


* Create ads for online and print
* Write copy, work with design team and optimize for sites
* Negotiate advertising placements
* Find new outlets for advertising partnerships


* Requires a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in related field a plus;
* 5+ years experience in a marketing, advertising or promotion role
* Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing campaigns
* Experience booking advertising and with ad networks such as Google AdWords, Facebook ads and promoted posts, and Promoted Tweets
* Experience with social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads, etc) and analytics
* Experience with email marketing and web analytics programs
* Experience with publicity and public relations planning and execution

The successful candidate must have the following skills:

* Project planning is critical; individual must have the capability to document, communicate and integrate results into specific action plans and manage project plans for implementing marketing campaigns
* Ability to work closely with publishing, video and product development to deliver campaigns to market according to plan
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required; must be able to present results and actions plans with professionalism, authority and credibility to all levels within the Company, as well as externally to prospects and clients
* Initiative and desire to work successfully in a fast-paced, small team environment, self-directing day-to-day activities and prioritization; strong attention to detail, with an ability to follow-up on items to ensure tight timelines and releases are met
* Must have experience using Photoshop and basic html
* An interest in nonfiction genres is a plus
