Essential Function
•Lead global direct procurement with the goal of achieving significant reductions in supply chain costs. In addition, strive to deliver year-over-year productivity improvements while maintaining or improving service levels and reliability
•Identifying opportunities through spend analysis
•Establish and execute a sourcing plan, focusing on addressable categories of spend
•Complete a full end to end sourcing process including analysis, price performance benchmarking, proposal development, supplier selection, negotiations and contract implementation.
•Implement tracking tools to capture actual procurement savings based on volume and activity
•Develop a strong working relationships and communications directly with the global Production Groups to develop common methods that monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries
•Setup processes to proactively report product and material availability issues
•Implement supply status and shipment tracking to North America, UK, and Asia Supply Chain teams
•Participate and contribute to monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process
•Complete Scope includes multiple services and products including Paper, Print & Bind, Packaging, Media, Digital Services, Prepublication Services & Global Logistics
•Develop and implement supplier performance management scorecards

Education & Experience

•Should have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in print and media supply chain management, with demonstrated results in managing cultural and process change
•Supply Planning experience in Publishing or Media
•Track record of Continuous improvement initiatives. Understanding of process mapping or flow diagram methods and tools, databases, and reporting tools
•Experience in sourcing in international markets
•Deep knowledge of utilizing various print manufacturing and production processes including web, sheet-fed, ink jet, toner and on-demand based digital technologies to improve working capital results
•Experience in logistics and 3PL coordination
•Strong foundation using MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project and Access)
•Knowledge of inventory, purchasing transactions and cost accounting
•Ability to work in executive and interdepartmental team settings
•Strong project management skills
•Ability to understand financial business impacts and drive results
•Experience in supplier negotiation and contract legal acumen
•Solid demonstrated leadership in coaching and people-development
•Ability to work effectively at the executive level
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
•Bachelor's degree (Master's degree or MBA preferred) in purchasing, supply chain, operations or materials management preferred or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
