We are seeking a Chief of Staff to directly support the CEO of National Journal Group in running day-to-day operations of both National Journal and Government Executive Media Group. Responsibilities will include a wide variety of strategic and operational projects tied to business expansion and growth. Projects could include strategic business analysis, new product development initiatives, partnership management and business development strategies. This position is ideal for candidates with ambitions to lead media brands or technology products.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Strategic planning: Coordinate a variety of strategic planning exercises to identify growth opportunities for the company
  • Project management: lead various strategic projects across functions and brands involving operations, digital growth and new product launches
  • Business analysis: Work with product line leaders to develop business cases supporting improvements, investment, and expansion
  • New product development: Develop, manage, and execute project timelines and milestones in support of new product pipelines
  • Monitor and assist managers with projects and other initiatives to ensure the quality of the work product and the meeting of deadlines
  • Interact and act as liaison for CEO with NJG senior management and external stakeholders

    Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Drive to consistently meet deadlines and maintain focus, even under pressure; ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize your own work
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple and complex activities to achieve team goals
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills; ability to boil down extensive research findings into relevant, actionable insights
  • Keen understanding of business planning and analysis. Understanding of financial, budget and business planning processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Unyielding attention to detail
  • Knowledge of digital media trends and best practices. Track record of creative problem solving in a media environment.
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
