At Cambridge University Press, we are expanding our medical publishing program and are seeking a new colleague to join our global team. We aim to appoint an Acquisitions/Commissioning Editor to build on our success, especially in psychiatry, neurology and reproductive medicine, but experience in other areas of biomedicine is welcome. You will be responsible for defined areas of the medical program and will manage lists, acquire new projects and contribute to the publishing strategy generally. Your primary responsibility will be for books, journals (including open access) and other digital products. You will work to develop and implement ideas for the expansion of the medical list and acquire new content and products in agreed areas, across formats. You will work closely with digital publishing, marketing and sales teams to deliver high-quality market–led publishing. Candidates should possess at least 3 years' experience in biomedical publishing. Experience in acquisitions, with online and other digital products, and/or an associated degree would be an advantage. You will be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks. A confident team member, you will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a self-motivated approach to work and be able to work without active supervision.This role requires national and overseas travel to enable you to meet editorial and publishing objectives.This is an exciting time to join the Cambridge medical team and a great opportunity to shape our publishing for the future.
