As Acquisitions Editor you will oversee an existing professional program in Architecture, including the renowned Graphic Standards franchise. In this role you will be expected to manage the program to achieve financial and signing targets; identify and build strategic partnerships; develop strategic editorial and operational plans; manage the expense budgets; participate in selecting, coaching, developing and appraising editorial support colleagues; manage the collection and analysis of market information; identify opportunities to accelerate revenue and profit growth and ensure the acquisition and development of products that meet market needs. This program requires high energy and drive to bring in new titles while ensuring the development and management of the backlist. Significant customer-facing skills will be required as well as the ability to collaborate in order to deliver successful content solutions for our market.

Requirements:
•Minimum of 3 years editorial acquisition experience; experience with digital content and services desired
•Ability to create and execute market-driven publication strategy
•Proven skills in acquiring and developing projects and successfully managing a program
•In-depth knowledge of the architecture markets and interpersonal skills to maintain industry network
•Excellent analytical skills and judgment to identify opportunities and projects with high potential for success
•Results driven with financial management skills
•Strong customer and market focus
•Strong leadership skills to build productive working relationships
•Self-starter with drive, energy and innovative outlook; ability to learn and adapt in a rapidly changing environment
•Ability to work collaboratively with global team
•Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize
•Successful negotiator with authors, agents, contributors, etc.
