Institutional Sales Represenative
Cambridge University Press, a leader in academic publishing, is currently seeking an Institutional Sales Representative to join our Journals Department. The Institutional Sales Representative will be responsible for selling new and existing online products, including Cambridge journals packages, journal archives, databases and eBooks to a territory within the US library and institutional market. Essential Duties:• Maintain and further develop relationships with existing customers.• Research and target new business.• Respond to high volumes of customer/internal queries daily (via email or phone).• Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing and provide follow-up throughout all stages of the sale process.• Track & report monthly sales activities, including any significant customer feedback.• Collaborate with colleagues internally to ensure customer satisfaction & quickly resolve outstanding customer issues.• Create and execute public sales presentations effectively and professionally.• Travel to various sales territory sites and attend academic library conferences.• Utilize CRM software, Salesforce, on a daily basis.Required Skills & Experience:• Minimum of 3 years of sales experience required, preferably in academic digital products. • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.• Ability to make cold calls.• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.• Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as within a team environment.• Demonstrated knowledge of: Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint; and Internet research. • Moderate travel required to attend various sites and conferences.• Salesforce (CRM) experience and interest/knowledge of academic library issues is a plus.
