Rodale’s book division seeks a Digital Product Manager to oversee an ongoing e-book program and help create complex and enhanced digital products. Candidate will work with editorial, design, and marketing departments in preparation of materials and will put entrepreneurial instincts to work in Rodale’s new endeavors in digital publishing.

Responsibilities include:

-Oversee the creation/production of electronic products including e-books, enhanced e-books and apps
-Distribute metadata and assets to retail partners
-Submit title nominations for retailer promotions
-Prepare e-book sales estimates for P&Ls
-Maintain internal sales tracking platform
-Distribute weekly sales reports
-Prepare e-book budget and forecast for approval
-Perform ad-hoc sales analysis (e.g. campaign performance)
-Identify and pursue emerging channel and platform opportunities for Rodale's titles
-Secure necessary digital rights for backlist titles with contract amendments
-Update e-book house ads for monthly iPad edition of Rodale's magazines
-Collaborate with social media team to promote author/brand/publisher digital platforms
-Manage custom sales promotions in conjunction with E-Mail Marketing Manager
-Research and interact with outside developers of electronic products
-Work with brands to optimize sales performance
-Act as liaison with all editorial departments in book division and magazines for e-book/app development
-Stay on top of trends and technologies in electronic publishing

Ideal candidate will possess:

-5 to 7 years experience within book publishing
-A keen interest in the ways in which digital/analog intersect and enhance readers experience
-Strong organizational skills
-Editorial acumen
-Excellent Excel skills
-The ability to work independently and with a wide array of departments
-Experience with design applications and HTML coding
-Familiarity with book production
