For someone interested in a magazine internship that's all about writing and reporting and gaining exposure and experience, New York Family has a wonderful hands-on program that has a strong track record for helping people build resumes and land jobs. We are presently recruiting summer interns. As a part of our team, you'll write stories for both the magazine and the website across a variety of subjects, potentially including education, health and fitness, travel, green living, culture, fashion, New York City fun, and family life. Ideally, candidates should have some experience writing for school publications or other outlets, but we also welcome applications from people with less experience but outstanding writing and communication skills and a strong interest in getting more exposure to journalism. Over the years, we have helped nurture the budding careers of undergrads, grad students, young adults in the job market, and career-changers. For our interns, we pride ourselves on being helpful and supportive mentors. We also offer a fair amount of scheduling flexibility. To give you a sense of how we roll, our cover subjects have ranged from Arianna Huffington (founder of Huffington Post) to actress Juliane Moore to talk show co-host Michael Strahan. Interested candidates should check out our website,

Interested candidates should send a resume, a few writing samples (if you have them), and, most importantly, a cover letter explaining your interest in the intern program.

Email is best. Send materials to Eric Messinger, at and put "Internship - [YOUR NAME]" in the subject line.

Thank You
