Excellent opportunity for a smart, energetic sales professional. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of successful experience in magazine advertising sales and/or trade show exhibit sales.

As part of our sales team, the sales manager will sell advertising in award-winning Landscape Architecture Magazine, ASLA annual meeting exhibit booth space, annual meeting sponsorships,and corporate memberships. The sales manager will be assigned a lucrative sales portfolio of existing customers and a prospect-rich database. This position:

-Contacts current sales clients and prospects to solicit sales.
-Maintains and expands the ASLA sales prospect database.
-Working with publisher, marketing,and sales colleagues, develops promotional strategies and marketing materials.
-Keeps current on industry trends and publications to identify new sales prospects and opportunities.
-Travels to the ASLA annual meeting and EXPO. Manages onsite booth, sponsorship, and corporate membership sales.
-Represents the Society at appropriate industry trade shows and expositions.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Local candidates preferred. Position works from the ASLA office in downtown D.C. BA degree and minimum five years experience in magazine advertising sales and/or trade show exhibit sales. Proficiency in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Excellent organizational skills, good judgment, and attention to detail. Proficiency with MicrosoftOffice, ACT!, Spacemaster, and/or exhibition sales and management applications a plus. Familiarity with landscape architecture and the design, planning, and construction industry a plus.

The work environment offers a modern, four-story building located one-and-a-half blocks from the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station serving the Red, Yellow, and Green Lines. Salary is very competitive and benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance and 401K plan.
