The Associate Designer provides design support for and reports to the Franchise/Paperback Art Director. Duties include development and design of assigned Franchise (novelty format books, sticker books, plush books, the Curious George line, Little Prince and more!) and Paperback titles (covers and interiors). Additionally, the associate designer prepares materials for cover meetings, logs original art, provides image scanning, orders supplies, purchases stock images, circulates materials for approval and returns to Production. The position breaks down to 60% design duties, 40% administrative duties.The qualified candidate will be fully versed in all Adobe graphics programs (especially in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) with a portfolio of work reflecting their skill level. Experience working with type and image is essential. Experience with 3-D design (product packaging) is ideal and experience working in Children's books is preferred.
