Content and Communications Manager

The Content and Communications Manager position will be based in New York and report directly to the Director of Global Marketing while working closely with marketing team members and affiliates in London, Los Angeles and China. This role has become instrumental to Sotheby's Institute's global marketing department as well as to the Institute at large. The primary focus of this role is to create and manage the materials that embody the overall messaging of the Sotheby’s Institute brand and to produce and oversee content that is housed on all owned media platforms: web, digital, social media and all forms of marketing communications internally and externally. Additionally, this position will coordinate across our global campuses to both identify and create the best content to represent the Institute’s 20+ offerings across all campuses and partnerships.

With a focus on video, photography and other forms of digital content, this position will help set the audio, visual and written tone within the brand parameters, creatively engaging a (primarily) millennial audience. As bought and earned media continue to generate web and social traffic, this position will contribute with high quality storytelling and a cohesive narrative that continues to embody the mission and differentiation of Sotheby's Institute. This includes a constant stream of high quality material that shows these attributes, clearly and effectively, whether they be created in-house or in collaboration with entities outside the Institute; such as alumni, Sotheby's auction house, or culled from art world news and other resources.

Specific requirements include:
5-7 years marketing/branding experience with a relevant organization (ideally luxury, art or education)

Expert knowledge of social media, including engagement strategies, monitoring, analytics and reporting

Content ideation, development and execution

Production management: special events, video shoots, photo shoots

Full understanding of the purchase clock and how that effects marketing decisions in a multi-faceted education environment

Demonstrated analytical and conceptual problem-solving ability

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
