Job Summary:

Spearhead and direct marketing, PR, social media and brand communications strategy, content and budget (trade and consumer) for SEI and Scholastic Interactive brand and product portfolio; drive revenue across both businesses
Conceptualize, develop and execute all digital and non-digital (print, electronic and online and social media) marketing content and assets (new programs, advertising, email marketing, social, websites, direct mail, sponsorships, events, solicitation, presentations, cross promotion)
Oversee the development of sales tools and pitch docs
Spearhead all marketing related to Scholastic apps – including relationship with Apple marketing and merchandising
Develop consumer and trade press strategy inclusive of social media strategy; manage agencies and day to day relationship; coordinate efforts with Corporate Communications and cross divisional brand PR. Ensure visibility for SEI and Interactive brand / product portfolio internally and externally to optimize sales and new business opportunities.
Direct all online activity for Scholastic branded sites
Manage, nurture and maintain internal and external brand communication of all cross – category product / promotional activity between SEI / Interactive and all Internal Cross Company Divisions
Initiative, gather, analyze, position and communicate sales data, online metrics, research and consumer trends to sustain partner relationships and drive new business;
Supervise award submission
Train, manage, nurture and support professional growth of staff; coordinate SEI and Interactive marketing activity to ensure best practices and cost efficiencies
Secure Scholastic Media presence in Corporate Marketing Programs


Five - ten years of broad marketing experience including publicity - preferably for a children's media, licensing and/or publishing company
Significant experience creating digital and social media marketing campaigns with proven results
Effective presentation skills
Superior writing and organizational skills
Excellent understanding of the industry and competitive landscape
Creative, flexible, team player with strong initiative
Must possess good management skills and be a strategic and hands-on marketer who demonstrates a high level maturity
