The Chronicle was among the world’s first publication to use computer-based authoring, typesetting, and publishing and was also the first newspaper on the Internet. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic for both learning and teaching. The ideal candidate will collaborate and create a new multi-faceted platform which will be highly visible across academe. A can-do-attitude, with the ability to energize and work with cross-functional teams is required.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Build Great Web Sites: work with other stake-owners, developers, QA, and technical project managers in solving new and existing technical challenges
•Collaborate with others: understand the requirements, implement solutions, test code and document projects
•Teach and Learn: participate in Design and Code Reviews, participate in group project evolution and learn new languages and technologies.
•Make it happen: deliver estimates, provide regular feedback and consistently help to meet project deadlines
•Be prepared for the adventure: each day will bring new challenges and will give you the opportunity to continually grow you skills.

•3-5 years Ruby and Front-end development experience.
•In depth knowledge of Javascript( JQuery/AJAX ), HTML5, CSS, Responsive design.
•LAMP application programming/integration experience.
•Proficiency in source code management practices, preferable Git
•Understands how to consume REST services utilizing JSON, JSONP, and XML.
•Strong written and verbal communications skills
•End-to-end development experience is a huge plus.
