If you have experience as an Assistant Editor in a Higher Educational publishing company and are looking for your next step, we are seeking an Associate Editor to work on our Psychology and Education product lines in our global headquaters on the Hoboken waterfront, two blocks from the train. We are seeking a candidate to work with product acquisition and development; strategic planning, financial management and work closely with marketing to provide editorial information to support marketing and sales efforts. We are looking for an individual who thrives in an environment that is both collaborative and complex and who is well motivated to build relationships and get things done. As with any position, attention to detail is crucial but in this instance flexible, quick thinking on one’s feet and an ability and interest in understanding the “Big Picture” is important. To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience in acquiring and developing market-appropriate projects and supplements including A minimum of two years publishing experience as an Assistant Editor in editorial or Higher Ed sales experience; proven successful experience in managing author and customer relationships and of course, excellent communication, organization, problem solving and administrative skills.
