RodaleNews.com seeks a digital native Assistant Online Editor to join our fast-paced team. You’ll be tasked with generating daily/weekly content for articles, features and newsletters; writing, scheduling, and posting social media content; publishing content in CMS; and creating content ideas for relevant book projects. The ideal candidate will be a hybrid writer/reporter, social media editor, and web producer who has a “no job is too small” attitude, a passion for the Rodale brand, and who’s excited to help improve lives and engage readers.

Responsibilities include:

-Report and write Rodale News stories and features each week, with an emphasis on daily content
-Publish content (articles, slideshows, etc.) into our content management system daily
-Routinely perform quality assurance checks on all published content
-Produce and prepare content for syndication outlets and newsletters
-Write, schedule, and post social media content across social platforms
-Generate content ideas and be able to execute them quickly
-Help drive and improve reader engagement and traffic

The ideal candidate will possess:

-At least an undergraduate degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field
-A strong desire to be part of the Rodale brand, and a passion for healthy living on a healthy planet — organic food, sustainability, eco-conscious living, natural health -- and other subjects -that matter most to the modern, mindful reader who wants to live her whole life.
-Experience working in an online editorial environment, particularly with regards to CMS, SEO, trending topics and social media. Please include links to your public social media profiles in your resume or cover letter to be considered
-Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing and grammatical skills with clips to demonstrate proficiency
-Creative problem solving skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-Ability to take constructive criticism and learn from senior editors
-Relentless ambition and work ethic
