WRAL is looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to grow our established digital presence. You will work with the promotion, news and online departments. You will lead cross-departmental teams on social media strategies and tactics in partnership with Creative Director; develop editorial calendars, and reinforce brand voice across social media channels. This is a hands-on, in the trenches, making a difference for our online communities, position. Contribute engaging content to daily social media efforts. Monitor, measure, analyze, and report data to upper level management team. Develop and deliver social media training to staff. Execute marketing and revenue opportunities. Assess and develop workflow for emerging social platforms. WRAL is a 24/7 operation, so you must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.

A minimum of three years’ experience in social media marketing is required. A minimum of three years’ experience using social media in newsroom or business setting is required. Previous role as Social Media Manager preferred. Experience in newsroom management and/or experience in Cable or local TV are a plus. Proven social success with a product or clients is desired. College degree required, preferably with a major in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field. Must have the ability to lift/carry equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
