Director of Sales
A leading custom legal publisher is seeking a high performing Director of Sales. We are looking for a dynamic, accomplished sales professional with exceptional presentation skills with experience in digital and print media. The candidate should have a strong command of written and verbal communication, superlative interpersonal skills, articulate and persuasive negotiating capabilities, and possess a proven track record of success in executing integrated ad campaigns. The ideal candidate will have experience and contacts in legal marketing category.The Director of Sales will:Oversee a sales team on print, product, and digital opportunities.Assist in sales calls and lead generation, but will not own a territory.Increase revenue and seek / implement new opportunities for growth. Oversee the creation of a dedicated, consistent sales and marketing initiative, including email promotions and product line campaigns.Analyze existing sales models and bring innovative ideas to the table for future growth.Introduce revenue-generating ideas to package and sell our company’s print, digital, mobile, video, and event assets. Work seamlessly with the publisher to position our digital and print magazines as leaders in their category.Train new sales hires and nurture existing sales relationships.Monitor progress of sold advertising / marketing programs to ensure delivery and client satisfaction. The Director of Sales should have 10+ years of progressive sales experience in publishing, with legal marketing experience strongly desired. The Director of Sales should have exceptional management and team-building skills, as well as the ability to set strategic direction. Impeccable communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as is the ability to crunch numbers and create contracts based on up front revenue expectations. He/she must be able to develop and present unique and valuable sales and marketing platforms to advertisers. Moderate travel is required.
