-US Practical Guidance offering for transactional attorneys
-Content types include practice notes, model documents/forms, sample clauses, drafting notes/annotations, emerging issues, glossaries, deal studies, etc.
-Covering transactional legal practice topics in Commercial, Mergers & Acquisitions, Real Estate, Restructuring/Bankruptcy, Securities/Capital Markets, Banking & Finance, IP/Technology, etc.
-Process includes initial content build and ongoing (daily) expansion/update/maintenance


The deliverables of the project are to work with our internal team of attorney editors, authors, copyeditors and production specialists to:

1)Review and update existing editorial guidelines. Focus on enhancing/expanding to:
a.Cover all content/document types and practice areas in scope
b.Insure effectiveness, clarity and consistency of voice, format, and structure
c.Build out additional examples and specific, detailed directives

2)Review existing content, identify gaps to updated guidelines and prioritize areas to address

3)Apply guidelines to a subset of prioritized areas both in order to “test run” updated guidelines and to implement improved guidelines in high impact areas

4)Design improved implementation / editing processes, including recommending ongoing workflow and resourcing
a.Document process for leverage with other teams (e.g. in other countries, products, etc)
b.May also be involved in identifying and evaluating potential technology tools to incorporate into editorial process

Relevant Qualifications / Experience:

The editor/editorial consultant selected to bid on and potentially be awarded this project will require demonstrated, significant B2B publishing experience (10+ years) including the following:
-Day-to-day editorial experience at a senior level
-Experience drafting, refining and implementing house style or other editorial guidelines in a rapid turnaround environment
-Experience working with SME authors. Experience in legal a plus, but will also consider experience working with expert authors in similar professional/technical fields (e.g. medicine, science, engineering, etc.)
-Project / program / change management
-Ability to meet and work with NY based team on a regular basis


Initial review will be of resumes of individual/team and cover letter describing relevant experience and potential approaches to this type of project.

We will meet with individuals/teams providing leading proposals to discuss project in more depth and provide access to the product in order. Proposals should then be submitted including:
-Work samples
-Initial review of content and opportunities
-Proposed approach and resourcing
-Time and fee
