Position Overview

Birchbox is the savvy yet approachable friend you go to for advice about everything from SPF and lipstick to the latest workout and what to binge-watch on Netflix—sharp, sassy, and slightly irreverent. And we’re looking for a marketing copywriter to join our growing and dynamic content team, a great opportunity to join the online beauty conversation and have a real impact on the bottom line of a rapidly expanding start-up. You will write copy representing Birchbox’s personality across multiple platforms, including: brick and mortar in-store signage, Birchbox Shop product and brand pages, and marketing and business development campaigns. Reporting to the Editorial Marketing Manager, you will partner with both the editorial and marketing teams to determine desired customer behavior and tailor communications to meet these guidelines. You’ll also get the opportunity to write for the Birchbox Magazine. If you’re a self-motivated, detail-oriented multitasker who wants to work in a fun, fast-paced environment and get exposure to the best brands in the industry, this is the place for you.


…have 1-2 years of experience writing copy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (or possess relevant experience writing for a school publication and/or during internships)

…can tailor your writing to fit any personality

…are skilled at evoking emotions and targeted behavior through your writing

...love seeing the impact that your work can have on consumer behavior

…retail copywriting experience preferred but not required
