The Digital Media Manager supports the mission of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute in the day-to-day operations of PCORI’s digital properties, including its website, email communications, multimedia, and social media channels. This position provides the editorial and technical oversight needed to achieve the organization’s strategic communications goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Generate, update, and maintain editorial content for PCORI web site. Maintain overall quality control and currency of the website.
•Assist in the implementation of third-party software needed to optimize the efficiency and impact of PCORI’s website, email and social media systems.
•Manages development and deployment of compelling online content that engages key audience groups, including multimedia content and interactive features.
•Works with Associate Director of Digital Media and the engagement, science and contracts management teams to ensure website meets the audience needs and that digital content can be disseminated broadly across all appropriate platforms.
•Develops and executes email campaigns, including monthly newsletters tailored for target audiences.
•Regularly monitors email and web performance metrics, advising the Associate Director of needs and opportunities for improvement.
•Assist with supervision of the digital media specialist and senior social media specialist.

Required Skills

•Superior technical skills, especially web/HTML skills and video production and editing. Experience with standards-compliant HTML/XHTML and CSS, web publishing software, web design tools, and Drupal content management systems.
•Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively required.
•Exceptional communication skills, written and oral.
•Ability to perform well in a team environment and manage multiple deadline-driven projects and collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors at all levels to meet organizational goals.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Publisher, Google Analytics, PhotoShop, and Final Cut. Experience working with Drupal and Word Press.
Required Experience
•Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred; specialization in communications, interactive communications, information technology, web production, design, or digital communications and marketing or related field strongly preferred. Specialization in health care or health policy a plus.
•Seven to 10 years of web publishing and production experience, preferably in digital communications or marketing environment.
•Experience implementing analytics tools (Google Analytics), and Search Engine Optimization.
