The Executive Editor is responsible for the editorial direction of new and existing businesses in the Men’s Enthusiast Group, the Home Design Group, the Teen Group, and the Women’s Network. This includes managing launches, training new editors, and mentoring international teams. The Executive Editor interviews candidates and oversees newly hired editorial talent.

Men’s Enthusiast Group includes Esquire, Car and Driver, Popular Mechanics, Quo, Riders, and Road & Track
Home Design Group includes Country Living, Elle Décor, Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful, and Veranda
The Teen Group includes CosmoGIRL and Seventeen
Women’s Group includes O, The Oprah Magazine, Red, Redbook, and Woman’s Day

This role brand manages selected international editions and websites by reviewing the monthly flat-plans, line-ups, covers, digital content and cover line translations to ensure editorial balance and appropriate advertising placement. The Executive Editor provides written critiques of selected editions and communicates regularly by email and phone with the local editors to share best practices and offer creative solutions.
This role is responsible for the contents of the Brand Books and oversees the planning and agenda of brand immersion visits and brand conferences. As primary brand steward, the Executive Editor works in conjunction with the Senior International Editions Editors to conceptualize and implement global editorial initiatives, including commissioning and editing text for HMI shoots.
The Executive Editor has the authority to make executive decisions with respect to the Home Design Group, the Men’s Enthusiast Group, the Teen Group, and the Women’s Network.
The Executive Editor reports to the Editorial Director, and works closely with Creative Director, and Fashion Entertainment Editor. The Senior Editions Editors directly report to the Executive Editor.
Strong communication skills needed for understanding and effectively communicating diplomatically with non-native English speakers
Foreign language skills preferred
Position requires some but minimal travel.
