Permissions & Rights Coordinator
ABRAMS seeks an organized, detail-minded individual to be responsible for coordinating the administrative issues involved with permissions, copyrights and reversions. Responsibilities include researching permission requests and preparing permission forms and invoices for third-party use of Abrams copyrighted materials; applying knowledge and sound judgment regarding copyright regulation and Abrams policies; processing permission requests to ensure proper approvals obtained; processing the copyright registration of books for all six Abrams imprints; processing all requests for reversion of rights for out-of-print titles; providing administrative support to the department including issuing contract payments, scanning and filing executed agreements; reviewing legal forms associated with permissions, copyright registration and copyright transfer to ensure accuracy and completeness.Qualifications include 2 - 3 years' experience in a publishing, legal or library environment; general knowledge of publishing practices with respect to copyright, permissions and rights reversions; strong ability to establish priorities and work independently; excellent communication and writing skills. Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Bachelor's degree preferred.Please include salary requirements in cover letter along with resume.
