Managing Editor, ELT
Cambridge University Press is seeking an experienced Managing Editor to join an international team developing innovative ELT materials in digital and print media. Managing editors schedule and coordinate the work of authors, writers, vendors, and in-house and freelance editorial staff, collaborating with senior colleagues to ensure timely delivery of market-appropriate products. They monitor the overall content creation and project progress, manage budgets, and manage, motivate, and support staff on editorial teams. The successful candidate will join a team developing digital content, so specific responsibilities for this role include oversight of digital product development following agile project management techniques. Candidates for Managing Editor should have a bachelor’s degree, 2-4 years’ editorial experience with ELT materials, and demonstrable success in managing projects and people; especially desirable is experience of agile project management. A teaching and/or academic background in ELT (MATESOL or equivalent experience) is preferred. Experience in developing materials for online learning is a distinct advantage. All candidates should have an excellent command of the English language, a demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and strong organizational and communication skills, together with enthusiasm, flexibility, and team spirit.
