The Event Marketing and Trade Show Coordinator is responsible for increasing awareness of our company and the books, digital products and journals we publish. The successful candidate will also generate increased book sales and sales leads at approximately 50 annual medical, allied health and social sciences industry meetings annually. Additionally, this position is responsible for planning events and tradeshows and implementing new strategies that are aligned with Springer Publishing’s and Demos Medical Publishing’s business goals and brand objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Logistics
•Maintain and coordinate a calendar schedule and workflow which meets the deadlines of all events.
•Coordinate and reserve booth space and furniture for all scheduled meetings.
•Facilitate shipment of all booth supplies, book and journal display copies, marketing support materials and relevant equipment for events.
•Manage and track all event budgets for Springer Publishing and Demos Medical Publishing.
•Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors and association representatives.
Marketing
•Research event marketing and sponsorship opportunities that will maximize event value.
•Collaborate with marketing team members to extend promotional opportunities to achieve maximum success at events.
•Collaborate with management and editors to identify best annual meetings to attend based on company goals and marketing strategy.
•Work closely with internal clients to define event goals, objectives and event implementation plans.
•Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to assess effectiveness of events and promotional opportunities.
•Work with editors to identify and create opportunity to meet and engage potential authors.
Sales
•Meet annual and individual meeting targets for sales, textbook adoption and professional leads, and journal subscriptions.
•Coordinate the transfer of sales lead data to customer service and sales team; follow up on delivery of sales lead data entry into salesforce.com.
•Work with Marketing and Sales to generate regular reports on event sales and lead tracking.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
•2-3 years of experience in marketing communications or trade show/event management highly desirable (preferably in health care and/or publishing, but not required).
•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Business preferred.
•Interest in learning new technologies.
•Proven history of coordinating multiple events or concurrent projects with multiple stakeholders.
•Detail-oriented, timely and service-oriented demeanor.
•Solid business acumen with proven negotiation skills and problem-solving skills.
•Proficiency in common office software, including Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet applications. Knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe InDesign, a plus.
