What you will do:
ITHAKA is seeking a dynamic assistant to join a publisher relations team that supports a large, high-profile publisher base. (Currently there are over 1,000 participating publishers.) This team is responsible for implementing programs and services that enhance our value to publishers and for maintaining JSTOR relationships with the majority of our publishers. Besides supporting the team administratively, the assistant will be involved in several core functions, such as communications, program implementation, report generation, and data analysis.

This is an exciting time to join the Content Development unit as ITHAKA is broadening its product offerings. The successful candidate must be willing to adapt to a changing environment and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. We also seek a self-starter who can work independently, be adept at data analysis, actively contribute to our strategy, and identify ways to improve efficiency and achieve results.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Publisher Support Assistant are:

•Support the programs & services team with the implementation of all programs, services, and account management.
•Update and maintain data in various systems and databases. Ensure accuracy of all data entered and provide reports when needed.
•Assist in the execution of the publisher communications strategy, maintain publisher records in the CRM system, and manage general inbox for publisher requests.
•Work with Marketing & Communications to ensure all marketing materials and website information pages are up-to-date. Manage advertising module on behalf of publishers.
•Generate standard reports for publishers about their participation in JSTOR and for internal analysis. Facilitate access to usage statistics for publishers and create custom reports on request.
•Research participating publishers and journals, as well as the general academic publishing landscape.
•General administrative responsibilities for the team, including filing, mailing, coordinating information packets, preparation for meetings and workshops, travel arrangements, creating meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes. Work on special projects as needed.

Your skills:
•College degree required.
•1-2 years experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
•Excellent quantitative analysis and data interpretation skills.
•Strong customer service mindset and able to prioritize customer’s needs.
•Strong proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel a requirement (i.e. pivot tables and V-lookups). Experience with SQL and a CRM system preferred.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle and prioritize tasks with limited supervision, and work well under deadlines.
•Ability to work well as a team member; a willingness to actively participate in team projects and share ideas
•Familiarity with online resources for academic research and strong research skills a plus.
