We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Director, Digital, preferably with experience or familiarity with the technology and mobile category, to drive engagement on behalf of clients and deliver strategic insights across brand efforts. The Director will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of strategic social media and digital initiatives including development of campaigns, content creation and driving engagement across multiple channels including Web, social and mobile.The Director, Digital would also act as on-site client lead, with travel to the client location approximately twice per month.As a global communications firm, Weber Shandwick works with clients to address a broad range of challenges across diverse geographies, product categories, and audiences. An ideal candidate will have not only deep understanding of current tools, platforms, and technologies, but really be in tune with emerging trends within digital/social/mobile media for B2B and B2C industries, as well as understand the broader cultural shifts taking place through digital means.Candidates must:-Have 8-10+ years of experience at a an interactive, digital advertising and/or digital PR agency preferred managing social media platforms, online and mobile campaigns or communities for brands (or commensurate experience).-Possess a thorough command of the social media and digital world (from the evolving social web to mobile tools and trends), sophisticated client service and digital communications skills, high energy and passion for this area of rapid change and innovation.-Work well within highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams of social strategists and other practice group colleagues – displaying proven ability in running a team, controlling timelines and budgets, anticipating issues and working towards solutions to complex problems.-Bring a sub-specialty to the group that complements your social strategy expertise, such as SEO, analytics, paid social, audience research, email marketing, mobile app development, etc.-Participate in community business groups and/or industry associations-Be able to communicate with client contacts across multiple levels, both at a reporting and strategic counsel level.-Have exceptional creative and business writing skills and public speaking experience.-Bring enthusiasm for digital business growth and creating never-been-done-before client programs-Lead cross-functional account teams to build content plans and campaign strategies designed to engage members of brand communities.-Working in tandem with VP and SVP, help mentor and lead team of digital associates-Possess strong technical proficiency in social media platforms and inherent curiosity about emerging platforms. Should be willing to experiment with cutting-edge tech, apps, platforms and channels and explain the “why this matters” to client at a strategic level.-Be able to analyze and synthesize data from communities and/or users, providing insights from the data to inform future recommendations and decisions.-Have the proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced office environment. What you’ll do:-Working in tandem with account teams, lead on-site client initiatives and serve as client lead during strategy and development phases of digital-first campaigns and campaigns where digital/social/mobile is a component.-Develop and maintain comprehensive social media strategies for clients that incorporate industry best practices and integrate with existing web/content/mobile strategy plans, influencer relationship programs, media relations efforts, etc.-Define KPIs and implement measurement, analytics and reporting methods to gauge success for client programs-Provide key data and analysis of digital/social/mobile media campaigns to clients as well as internal account and management staff-Work proactively with brands to explore and identify ways to integrate social media into overall digital marketing strategies and campaigns-Develop and track against client scopes of work-Participate in new business pitch development and presentations-Mentor junior colleagues, formally and informally through account work and training opportunities-Travel up to 40%Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
