Cambridge University Press seeks a talented and motivated individual to join our college sales team. The College Sales Representative will be primarily responsible for selling textbooks, supplements, and new media to professors and academic bookstores in a territory comprised of 2 and 4 year colleges and universities. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to begin a sales career in the publishing industry! Office located in the Tribeca area in NYC.

Other duties will include:

-Call on potential textbook adopters year-round to build relationships and close sales.
-Collect, store, and distribute feedback about both the publishing industry and specific products obtained from calls.
-Identify key opportunities in assigned territory and send samples of products to key decision makers.
-Analyze sales data to identify newly closed business and recent purchases.
-Compare purchases histories and locate trends using reporting system; monitor and review access to identify high-interest users/potential adopters.
-Extensively research competing textbooks and identify Cambridge’s market niche.

Experience & Skills

-Candidates must possess 1-2 years of general office experience, preferably in or related to sales; 1-2 years of sales and marketing experience preferred.
-Excellent PC skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Office.
-Ability to learn and master new software quickly.
-Exceptional written and oral communication, organizational and analytical skills.
-Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or current enrollment towards completion, a plus.
