Macmillan Science and Scholarly (Nature Publishing Group & Palgrave) divisions of Macmillan Publishers Limited are the leading publishers of high impact scientific and social science information in print and online.

The Marketing department seeks a full-time Marketing Manager to join the institutional and library marketing team. The Institutional Marketing Manager is responsible for providing marketing support to our global site license sales teams, with responsibility for communicating and promoting NPG and its range of products, services and policies to the institutional market.

Key responsibilities include:
•inputting in to marketing strategy to the institutional and library market
•managing and prioritizing promotional campaigns across the portfolio using a mix of mediums, including digital campaigns, direct mail, conferences, advertising, PR, sales materials and market research
•budgetary management and forecasting
•reporting and analysis of campaigns and tracking of KPIs
•creation of sales support tools for sales and customer services teams
•representing NPG at conferences and events when required

This position works closely with our global sales and customer services teams, product marketing and corporate PR teams.

Applicants must have 5+ years marketing experience in STM, ideally include marketing activities and communications to the library market. Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as numerical aptitude are a must. Experience with web analytics, social media marketing and a commitment to developing marketing best practice are desirable. The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree. Good creative and copywriting skills are a necessity for this position, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail, analytical, time and project management skills are also essential.

This position is located in our New York office and will report to the Senior Marketing Manager, Institutional. Some travel to exhibitions is required.
