General Description

•Responsible for the success of Smashbox Studios locations business including the sales and rentals of photo location EQ & production supplies
•Re-launch currently closed studios to a fully operational and successful locations business - target date is Mid-Fall 2014.
•Elevate and uphold the Smashbox Studios brand, industry position and culture as the top fashion/commercial studio in LA

Core Responsibilities

•Develop deep, ongoing relationships with Magazine Editors, Print, Commercial and Film (TV and Feature) Producers, Photographers, including Photo Assistants, Directors, Photo Agents, Agency Producers, Art Buyers, and Publicists
•Maintain an extensive pipeline of activity with these production partners including professional and personal preferences.
•Consult with clients to understand their production needs. Use probing questions to dig deep into each job to ensure successful projects.
•Package Smashbox services to provide seamless one stop shop experience
•Intimately know the largest buyers of location rental services in both the film and print marketplaces i.e. Photographers, Directors, Photo Assts, Producers, Production Managers, Production Coordinators, DP’s, Grips, Gaffers, PA’s
•Manage calendar availability and scheduling of all location shoots & deliveries
•Assist clients with rental orders and questions concerning photography/film equipment
•Manage locations staff for 24/7 operation
•Specify, negotiate and purchase equipment and vehicles as needed
•Build locations equipment kits and packages
•Manage locations fleet, drivers, freelancers and subcontractors
•Ensure equipment is tested and in perfect working condition and orders are accurately packed on-time for all jobs
•Manage contract negotiations & location rentals
•Manage sub-rentals
•Manage repairs
•Manage insurance requirements and account applications for rentals
•Process estimates, and invoices
•Answer phones, emails, texts and general organization and office support.
•Collaborate and partner with Smashbox Studios leadership, departments and staff
•Make sure clients are happy with Smashbox Studios service. Follow up to find out if there is anything more we can do to provide better service

Experience Required

•At least 3 years experience in similar role
•Proven managerial and recruiting experience
•Extensive photo and video equipment knowledge a MUST
•Knowledge of digital, film, video cameras, lighting and computer equipment
•Ability to quickly learn and adopt modern processes
•Experience working in a fast-pace environment
•Physical condition necessary for studio grip room operations
•Excellent working knowledge of the photography & commercial film industry and key players
•Understanding of high-end customer service requirements
•Ability to prioritize and effective time-management skills
•Excellent communication skills
•An enthusiastic and committed attitude and dedication to excellence
•Attention to detail, self starter, and team player
