ABA is currently seeking a Writer/Editor to work in our Member Communications Department. Incumbent will work with the Editorial Director, Member Communications, to write and edit projects for the Marketing team and its internal clients. This position also backs up the Editorial Director on a range of research and writing assignments, including Daily Newsbytes stories, sample communications pieces for bankers and other Member Communications materials.

Requirements
College degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Social Sciences or related field and a minimum of 5 years related work experience in an ad agency, marketing communications firm or department within a larger firm, magazine, newspaper, online publication and/or trade association (or equivalent combination of related education and experience). Experience as a copywriter and/or editor required. Experience with finance and banking desired but not required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Superior creative copywriting and newswriting skills

- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of creative process
- Excellent proofreading skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to translate bureaucratic, legal and accounting jargon into succinct, plain English
- Proficiency at online research, including of government agency databases, archives and directories
- Understanding of basic statistics
- Knowledge of HTML coding
- Familiarity with AP Stylebook
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, and work on cross-functional teams
