Routledge NY seeks an ambitious Marketing Assistant to assist within Built Environment/Social Sciences. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The Marketing Assistant will work with the marketing manager to develop and implement successful marketing materials/activities, such as: sales flyers, print and online advertisements, email and web marketing, proofreading, updating spreadsheets, sending out review copies, promotional database maintenance, list research, data analysis, author correspondence, and administrative tasks. This role will demand someone who can work effectively across departments and locales to drive for results and be a creative thinker and problem solver.

Primary Responsibilities:
This is a pivotal role within the team, and the successful candidate must have exceptional communication and time management skills. Core daily duties will include:

•The creation and sending out of eMarketing campaigns; which would involve proofreading, writing, scheduling, multivariate testing, as well as investigating new opportunities
•Social media posting and strategy, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest
•Entering and updating information in various company databases
•Managing review plans and author care pack distribution
•Generating flyers and title lists for authors and exhibits
•Assisting at, and sometimes managing, book exhibits (occasional travel necessary)

Required Skills:
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel
•Strong writing and communication skills
•Excellent time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
•Desire and demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
•Self-motivated and energetic individual with a high level of initiative
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and partners
•Capacity and willingness to learn new applications

The successful candidate should have internship and/or work experience for a publisher or related business. An understanding of the lists and the intended market would be advantageous, but not essential. BA or equivalent educational experience.
