Finance and Operations Lead

A leading online media brand with a start-up spirit and social mission, Devex has 120 staff and offices in Barcelona, Manila, Tokyo, and Washington, DC. We are growing fast and need a self-starter who loves the online media business and understands how to work with accountants on tax preparation, plan a budget for a new product line, and review legal contracts with our lawyers. This role is perfect for someone early in their career with at least a couple of years of practical business experience under their belt. The perfect candidate will find it a snap to learn the various online systems we use for accounting, billing, and customer relationship management, and can pull reports and analyze financial data in their sleep. Our ideal professional for this role will find no project or issue too small and will be excited to find both small cost savings and large new efficiencies. Responsibilities • Budgeting & business planning for a media enterprise• Manage tax preparation with accountants• Manage legal contracts with lawyers• Handle a range of operational matters, from insurance to office facilities to communications systems to procurement to performance management Required Qualifications • At least 2-3 years of practical business experience (e.g. finance, operations, accounting)• Relevant undergraduate degree (e.g. business, accounting, finance)• Strong knowledge of the media business• Fluency with technology and systems• Excellent analytical skills• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Strong customer service orientation• International travel experience and a global mindset• U.S. work authorization Preferred Qualifications • Experience in a finance/operations role at a media enterprise• Expertise with Salesforce, Quickbooks, Zuora, and related systems• MBA or related graduate degree Job Location This is a full-time position available in the Devex Washington, D.C., office.
