•Must have experience in extracting numbers, data, graphs from reports/papers/content and incorporating the information into an infographic for Facebook, Twitter, or other social media channels.•Should have a strong eye for design and a keen talent for turning data and information into understandable and intriguing graphic stories, maps, illustration and other content. •Ability to supervise all aspects of creating an infographic, such as: Reviewing data and choosing interesting facts; creating a narrative or storyboard on how those facts can be used to tell a story; sketching a possible storyboard; executing the final product or finding a graphic designer or design firm that can create the final project; managing the review process with the appropriate managers; ensuring all content is accurate; ensuring that the final project is in an acceptable technical format; working with the Web team on placement, accompanying text, headlines, and positioning. •Ability to work with animators from the ECRBM team to turn infographics into short videos. Must have experience with various social media platforms and formatting infographics/design for World Bank Corporate social media channels.Overall, the Editor will serve as a consultant/advisor to WBG managers and communications officers on the effective use of data; best practices; ethics; presentation and design. The Editor will also contribute ideas to corporate campaigns and other creative efforts.SPECIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS/ SPECIFIC CRITERIA •Strong background in designing infographics, maps and other digital content for print and for the Web. •Candidate should combine strong design skills with a background in communications or journalism and experience in storytelling, writing and disseminating information. •Preferable for the candidate to have some ability in graphic design, illustration, cartography, Photoshop, Final Cut, Aftereffects or computer generated graphics.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut and strong typography skills requiredKnowledge of CSS, HTML5, AfterEffects, Cinema4D preferred. Knowledge of standard sizing of social media imagery for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. No phone calls, infographic expertise required.
