Associate Marketing Manager

The Associate Marketing Mgr., Books is responsible for developing, managing, executing, and implementing the plans and tasks needed to successfully market, promote, and sell Weldon Owen/Bonnier Brands' book titles in the North American trade market. Success will be determined by creating and carrying out plans which will increase title visibility with the trade and consumers, support our distributor in promoting and selling in books, and focusing on sales-oriented activities. Particular attention needs to be paid to creating and disseminating timely and effective sales materials and tip sheets, positioning of titles on Amazon, and establishing and maintaining clear and helpful communication and partnership between Weldon Owen and magazine colleagues.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for the day-to-day plans and marketing-related tasks for Weldon Owen and Bonnier Brands titles
Generate marketing ideas, manage and facilitate design and production of all marketing projects for all titles.
Responsible for tracking and managing the marketing expenses to be accurate and under budget.
Work closely with sales, publicity, in house editorial and production colleagues, and distributor to provide all marketing support and to enhance the sales effort.
Develop and contribute marketing positioning by title on tip sheets
Manage Amazon title presentation: assure titles are represented correctly, marketing copy is effective, and covers are correct, and provide images for Look Inside
General marketing support and follow-up as needed and directed
Responsible for working closely with editors to understand their ideas and vision for their titles, and get their input as well as keep them informed on marketing efforts.
Help devise and responsible for implementing all trade and consumer advertising and promotions.
Work with sales assistant on all aspects of planning and producing appropriate and timely sales materials.
With manager, manage and track coop spending and communicate with distributor on coop and channel specific marketing opportunities.
Schedule and oversee design and production of all marketing promotions–ads, sell sheets, special offers, P.O.P, other promotional materials.
Work in tight collaboration with PR and coordinate plans and efforts.

Requirements/Qualifications:

3-5 years results-oriented marketing experience in book publishing or other relevant industry
Demonstrated success in independently managing many tasks at one time, as well as strong prioritization skills.
Can-do, positive, collaborative and service-oriented attitude
Position requires an individual who is a quick-learner, is self-motivated and responsible, has excellent organizational skills, and a strong drive to create success.
