News 12 is seeking a talented social media producer to help build and execute strategy across our various Social Media channels, including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter and Instagram. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Excel and Social News Desk or other social media tracking tools and an understanding of social key metrics. They must have the ability to prepare monthly reports that track and compare the social media results for News 12 and recommend new social media tools, sites, apps as part of the social media mix. This individual will manage and curate content to social media sites to generate interest and conversation with viewers. They will also prepare and execute all aspects of news and other content for delivery on all Interactive platforms including web, ITV and other emerging technologies, as needed.

Manage and monitor day-to-day activities on branded social media profiles and on-site communities. Ensure a clear brand voice and approach, and to support and clarify News 12 content across platforms. Measure impact of our various social channels and test specific tactics to optimize. Generate dynamic conversation and maintain on-going dialogue with social media followers. Content promotion on social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and other social media/user-generated accounts.

Ensure all content meets News 12 network standards for journalistic integrity and production quality and conforms to proper rules of grammar and the AP Style Guide.

• Minimum of 1-year experience as a news web/interactive Producer required.
• Ability to track and Analyze social media reports.
• Must have a strong understanding of social media’s role in journalism.
• Proficiency in Excel and understanding of social key metrics a must.
• Knowledge of Omniture and other online metric reporting like Google analytics required.
• Knowledge of local and national current events, newsmakers, and issues is required.
• Proficiency in news production equipment and computers, as well as the ability to evaluate new technologies and platforms is a must.
• A quick learner that is able to adapt to the changes associated with rapid growth.
• Ability to perform many tasks simultaneously under pressure with exceptional news judgment as well as effective news writing, copy-editing ability for all platforms is required.
• Must have creative ability to identify problems and develop solutions with leadership ability and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be highly organized and possess time management skills.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred, minimum 60 College credits required.
