Baltimore magazine is looking for a skilled Online Director to lead our digital team. With our Online Department, you'll help us build and maintain an innovative web presence for America's oldest city magazine. We're developing great new products to match the quality of our print magazine, empowering our editorial content to shine, and creating exciting new revenue opportunities.

Essential duties will include:

Act as a visionary, searching for new ways to use the web to carry out the mission of the organization
Oversee full-time web designer and direct web editorial team in the production of online content
Work with the sales and marketing teams on the development and implementation of integrated and digital campaigns for Baltimore magazine clients.
Work with the Director of Finance and Business Development to set budgetary goals for the online department
Work with the Director of Circulation on online audience development and subscription promotion
Develop, recommend, and implement strategies to manage and enhance the digital properties
Research important trends in web publishing and work to implement best practices
Use analytics and testing to identify audience and revenue growth opportunities
Direct the company's email newsletter program
Provide guidance and collaboration with the company's social media efforts
Maintain and enhance content management system, work with web designer on ongoing improvements and new features
Identify services and software that can increase efficiency within and beyond the online department
Manage web hosting service, tracking performance and troubleshooting issues

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven skill with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with digital editorial strategy
Experience with content management systems, including WordPress
Experience with email management systems, including MailChimp or Constant Contact
Analytics and ad tracking with Google Analytics, DFP, and AdSense
Ability to collaborate and brainstorm with teams, including our Editorial, Art, Marketing and Sales departments
