We seek an Assistant Editor who is responsible for assisting in the project management and editing of print and digital materials across the entirety of projects that move through the Editorial department, including collateral related to the education and community programs of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, Development campaigns, Special Events, and concert-specific Marketing initiatives, as needed. The Assistant Editor is additionally responsible for monitoring the production and ensuring the editorial excellence of daily Playbill programs for approximately one-fourth of CHC presentations in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, Zankel Hall, and/or Weill Recital Hall, in addition to any corresponding librettos. He/she is also responsible for working in the website content management system to enter and update information related to any assigned program. Support work on additional projects is assigned based on the department’s overall workload, at the discretion of the Managing Editor of WMI, Managing Editor, and/or Director of Creative Services.
Qualification: Bachelors degree with excellent copyediting and proofreading skills are required. Efficient and confident project-management skills are also imperative. Musical knowledge; Marketing insight related to a variety of audiences; Microsoft Office applications; Quark; and Online content-management systems all highly desirable.
