The hospitality industry is looking for a dynamic, multi-tasker who knows the press, understands how to make news and get headlines. We are looking for a great writer with solid press contacts who can proactively pitch media and garner coverage. Hill experience and an understanding of issues that matter to the Hotel and Lodging Industry are a plus: workforce and labor issues; travel and tourism; immigration reform, online hotel booking tax and more.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the Government Affairs team to determine day-to-day and week-to-week media messages; Proactively pitch Hill and national press on important issues; Monitor press, arrange interviews, draft press and briefing materials, track coverage; Create industry statements and draft speeches or presentations for staff or officers; Update social media channels and web site; grow network of followers; Draft content for internal or member communications and collateral.

A bachelor's degree in political science or journalism preferred and a minimum of five to eight years of experience is desired. Sample press materials required.
